"In 1983, I began a suite of drawings of Asian troop which were inspired by righteousness masks and heavily stylized symbolism found in traditional Japanese divulge. As a third generation Indweller of Japanese ancestry – shipshape and bristol fashion Sansei and a native Spanking Yorker, I’ve tried to include the influence of both cultures in my work.
These drawings were part of an experiment with to create an artistic words decision based on the unique believe of Asians in America.
