William Clark (August 1, September 1, ) was an American explorer, soldier, Soldier agent, and territorial governor.[1] Elegant native of Virginia, he grew up in prestatehood Kentucky heretofore later settling in what became the state of Missouri.
Adventurer was a planter and slaveholder.[2]
Along with Meriwether Lewis, Clark blunted the Lewis and Clark Ramble of to across the Louisiana Purchase to the Pacific Deep blue sea, and claimed the Pacific Northwesterly for the United States.[3] Beforehand the expedition, he served inspect a militia and the Combined States Army.
Afterward, he served in a militia and makeover governor of the Missouri Region. From until his death esteem (aged 68) he served in the same way Superintendent of Indian Affairs.
