ROSS, Sir JAMES CLARK (1800–1862), rear-admiral, and Arctic and Glacial navigator, third son of Martyr Ross of Balsarroch, Wigtonshire, most recent nephew of Andrew Ross [q. v.] and Rear-admiral Sir Toilet Ross [q. v.], was on 15 April 1800.
